Job Openings:

Director of Publishing Operations

Boston Art Review seeks a highly motivated publishing and operations leader to join our team as we build capacity, expand our reach, and strengthen the systems that support our next stage of growth.

The Director of Publishing Operations will oversee the systems, workflows, and infrastructure that support Boston Art Review‘s editorial, publishing, audience, and organizational activities. This role will be essential in helping BAR strengthen editorial production systems, improve audience and stakeholder reporting, coordinate contributor and publication workflows, and support cross-team collaboration across editorial, programs, partnerships, communications, development, and digital platforms.

This is a new leadership role designed to move critical publishing and operational work out of the executive director’s day-to-day portfolio and into a dedicated staff role. The Director of Publishing Operations will work closely with the executive director to translate BAR‘s growth into clear workflows, reliable systems, useful reporting, and stronger organizational coordination.

This is a full-time exempt position that reports directly to the Executive Director. We are seeking someone who is interested in joining the organization as a thought partner at a leadership level. Candidates must be based in the Greater Boston area or willing to relocate to the area. Candidates must be able to work in our office located at the Boston Center for the Arts three days per week. Some evening or weekend work may occasionally be required but will always be communicated in advance.

This is a full-time, exempt position, with 100% employer-paid health and dental insurance, a hybrid work option, and additional art-related perks. Base salary is $80,000–$85,000.
